Josep Foraster – Trepat

Josep Foraster Trepat is a great all-rounder for a dinner table. It is ideal with many kinds of vegetable and meat dishes, pasta and cheese, and even with salmon. It’s a queen of a tapas table. The rare trepat grape is the essence of the Conca de Barberà area.
In a glass
The wine has an intense aroma of forest fruits, with a light background of blood orange and white pepper. In the mouth, it surprises with its elegance. Wine is very expressive, fresh, with a lot of fruit, mineral and very persistent. Serve slightly chilled, around 14-16°C.
At the vineyard
More than 40 years old vineyard of trepat vines, located on the sunny slopes of the Sierra de Miramar, 500 m above sea level. Harvest at its optimal maturation point, at the end of October, in small boxes and with a careful selection in the vineyard.
In the winery
Cold maceration and subsequent fermentation with endogenous yeasts. Aged 7 months in French oak barrels of 300 and 500 litres of about three years old. A 30% of the wine is aged in a concrete “egg” tank for 7 months. Bottled with less than 40 mg SO2T.
